Can SSL Prevent My Website From Being Hacked?
No, SSL can only prevent the disclosure of communication between your site and its visitors.
SSL is an excellent technology for securing communications between your site and your visitors. It stops attackers from eavesdropping on that information and stealing it.
However, SSL does not stop attacks that target a web server or the client-side components of an online application, as most successful hacking attacks do. SSL secures the channel between your site and its visitors, but it does not secure either end of that communication. That is not what SSL was designed to do.
If you are interested in protecting your site form hackers, we do offer a Site Protection and Scanner product that identifies malware and security holes on your site that could allow a hacker to steal information, vandalise your site, infect your customers or be blacklisted with Google.
